Our club was started in the mid 1980's by skiers looking for others of their age group to ski with. The focus of the club is downhill skiing however cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are options some choose. We have grown to a group of about 80 people or so which varies from year to year.

We are a group of skiers in our forties and older. Most of us live in the Vancouver B.C. area. We have the north shore mountains -Grouse, Seymour and Cypress Mountains on our back doorstep.

About ten weekends or mid-weeks, from January to early April we rent cabins in Whistler. The cabins are lovely places usually with a hot tub. Skiers go up, some Friday morning others Friday evening and stay Friday & Saturday nights, then return on Sunday on the week-end trips. Similar arrangements are made on mid-week trips. Car sharing is common. Someone in the cabin will usually organize a pot luck for one or both evenings. These  always turns out to be a wonderful meals with appetizers, salads, a main meal, and desert.

We have two general meetings each year, each is combined with a wine and cheese party. The main meeting is early November when we renew our memberships and sign up for Whistler weekend or mid-week trips. At this time we elect our executive with the exception of the week-end/mid-week trip organizers and treasurer who are very busy at that time. They are elected in the spring meeting.  Usually someone will organize a longer ski trip in B.C. or the U.S. as well.

At the spring meeting we also organize summer activities, - there  is usually an activity each month and may include hikes, bike rides & trips, golf, etc. As well, we have an annual Christmas brunch.
